SERGEY ZHURAVEL

Ranked among Russia’s most beloved flutists, Sergey Zhuravel graduated from the Gnessins School of Music and then studied at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, where he joined the teaching staff after successfully graduating. In addition to his solo recordings, Zhuravel has competed on the international stage and was recognized with the I.S.Kozlovsky Award in 2014 and the Çaykovsky Award in 2015. He performs at festivals in Russia and around the world, and has served as a lecturer at the Moscow Conservatory. He also serves as flute group conductor in the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra, under musical director Vladimir Spivakov. As a flute artist of Wm. S. Haynes Co., Zhuravel performs with a Haynes 14K Golden Flute, produced by traditional methods.
